Established, growing Bucks County, Pennsylvania-based contract manufacturing company is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their team. Experience preferred, but this is also an excellent opportunity for an apprentice with a desire to learn. You’re a great fit for this position if you are a CNC Machinist who can independently set up, operate, and program CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to produce precision components
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
- Program CNC machines using G-code and/or CAM software
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make program or setup adjustments as needed
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure parts meet quality standards
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and efficiency
Qualifications
- CNC machining experience (mill, lathe, or multi-axis) preferred
- Ability to set up, operate, and program CNC equipment independently
- Understanding of machining principles, tooling, speeds & feeds
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of GD&T and quality inspection processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
Preferred Skills
- Experience with multi-axis machining (4-axis/5-axis)
- Familiarity with ERP or shop management systems
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
- Experience working with a variety of materials (aluminum, steel, stainless, plastics, etc.)
