Job Summary
We are seeking a mechanically inclined and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency and physical upkeep of retail and residential buildings by diagnosing facilities issues, performing minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs, and executing preventive maintenance. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can work independently and with team members, and effectively troubleshoot.
Duties
- Conduct routine facilities maintenance, including physical repairs, structural touch-ups, and preventive maintenance measures.
- Troubleshoot and perform first-line repairs on minor plumbing issues (leaks, clogs, fixtures) and basic HVAC components (drain pans/pipes).
- Diagnose and resolve minor electrical and lighting issues.
- Manage facility security infrastructure by ensuring building security alarms and automated systems are properly enabled, disabled, and functioning.
- Promptly respond to and resolve tenant repair requests, providing clear technical updates and professional customer service.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, hand/power tool operation, or a related technical trade is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to log maintenance tickets and send clear diagnostic reports via a smartphone application.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record to operate a company service vehicle.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and tenants regarding repair timelines.

- Must pass a criminal background check, no felonies or serious misdemeanors.
- This position is a contracted employee with no benefits.
- This position is 20-30 hours per week with the chance to increase to 40.
