Job Overview:
Busy intellectual property law firm looking for a dynamic, full time member for our patent department. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. As a Paralegal, you will provide essential support to attorneys and assist in the management of legal cases relating to both U.S. and international patents. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for the law and strong administrative skills.
DUTIES:
- Assisting with the preparation of formal documents related to patent applications, both U.S. and international.
- Assisting with filing of U.S. patent applications, and supporting documents, with the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
- Providing support to Attorneys on patent matters.
- Liaising with clients on ongoing projects and other intellectual property matters.
- Liaising with foreign counsel regarding international patent applications.
- Assist with maintaining client dockets for filing deadlines, including preparing reminders to attorneys and clients as needed.
- Receipt, review and respond to incoming communication from clients and foreign counsel.
- Efficiently proofreading and editing of documents prepared by attorneys.
- Other duties assigned by your supervisor
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
- Strong project management skills to ensure timely completion of assignments and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Familiarity with filing systems and legal document organization
- Proficiency with computer software like Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and also PDF readers and web browsing to access and obtain information.
- Experience with patent application procedures is a plus.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
