We're seeking a compassionate, relationship-focused Family Support Specialist to provide voluntary home visiting services to expectant parents and families with young children through the nationally recognized Healthy Families America® model.

About the Role
The Family Support Specialist provides strengths-based, trauma-informed, and family-centered home visiting services that promote healthy pregnancies, positive parent-child relationships, child development, and family well-being.
Services are individualized to meet each family's unique needs and include education, support, developmental guidance, goal setting, and connections to community resources.
Responsibilities
- Conduct family assessments to determine eligibility for services.
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with expectant parents and families.
- Provide regular home visits in accordance with Healthy Families America standards.
- Support healthy child development and strengthen parent-child interactions.
- Help families identify goals and celebrate their progress.
- Provide education related to parenting, child development, health, safety, and family well-being.
- Connect families with community resources and referrals.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and electronic case records.
- Protect client confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.
- Participate in reflective supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, schools, social service agencies, and community partners.
- Complete required Healthy Families America training and certification.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Education, Family Studies, or a closely related field.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to travel throughout the service area to conduct home visits.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing a flexible schedule.
Preferred
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW).
- Experience working with children and families.
- Home visiting, case management, family support, or early childhood experience.
- Knowledge of infant and early childhood development.
- Experience using strengths-based, trauma-informed, or family-centered practices.
Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience may be considered.
