As our Assistant Executive Steward, you'll help lead the operation that keeps our award-winning restaurants, banquet venues, and convention spaces running seamlessly. You'll inspire and develop a large team, ensure the highest standards of sanitation and safety, support exciting large-scale events, and collaborate with leaders across Food & Beverage, Culinary, and Engineering. What will you do as an Assistant Executive Steward?

Lead, coach, and develop stewarding supervisors, lead stewards, and team members, creating a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Oversee daily stewarding operations across restaurants, banquets, and large-scale events, ensuring the right resources are in place to support every service.

Maintain the highest standards of sanitation, food safety, OSHA compliance, and health department regulations while promoting safe work practices throughout the department.

Coordinate dishwashing, pot washing, kitchen sanitation, banquet setup support, and stewarding services for conventions, concerts, and special events.

Monitor staffing, scheduling, labor productivity, and overtime to maximize efficiency while maintaining excellent service levels.

Manage inventories of china, glassware, silverware, smallwares, and cleaning supplies to ensure operational readiness and minimize waste.

Partner with Culinary, Banquets, Engineering, Housekeeping, Purchasing, and Food & Beverage leaders to support seamless daily operations and memorable guest experiences.

Conduct routine inspections to ensure stewarding areas remain clean, organized, well-maintained, and fully operational.

Assist with budgeting, cost control, equipment maintenance, payroll review, and operational reporting while identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce breakage.

Step into the Executive Steward's leadership role when needed, ensuring operations continue to run efficiently while maintaining exceptional service and quality standards.

Work Experience
To be successful as the Assistant Executive Steward; you’ll need:

High School diploma or GED equivalent. College degree or some level of secondary education preferred.

A minimum of 5 years experience as a Stewarding Supervisor.

The ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment is essential.

The flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Mathematical ability; budgets, payroll, etc.

Written communication skills; standard forms, data entry and documentation.

The ability to read is essential; budgets, standard forms, performance reviews, schedules and daily paperwork.

The ability to speak and understand the English language; must continuously communicate with a degree of professionalism and accuracy.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word and Excel and Lotus.

Knowledge to be able to operate a dish machine and floor cleaners.

A valid NYS Drivers license.

The ability to work under extreme temperatures; 0-110 degrees.

Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 51 - 60 pounds.
