Who We Are
Bridge Counseling Associates is the largest behavioral health agency in Southern Nevada. This means we treat mental health and substance abuse issues.
You will work with highly trained therapists and counselors, as well as a psychiatrist and two nurse practitioners. You will be part of the team that helps thousands of people in our community each year.
Bridge Counseling Associates – Behavioral Health Technician
Compassionate and energetic Behavioral Health Technician with experience and professionalism need only apply. In this vital role, you will provide direct support to individuals with diverse behavioral health needs and substance use disorders. The position requires the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize while working with culturally diverse populations.
Hours/Shifts
Work schedules are based on agency needs and may include working evenings, weekends, with a variety of shifts and hours.
Experience must include the following skills and areas of responsibility:
· Provide direct, compassionate care to patients with substance abuse and mental health conditions.
· Monitor patient behavior, listen to concerns, and accurately document changes in health or mood.
· Safely assist patients through behavioral escalations utilizing de-escalation techniques.
· Maintain a healthy, structured, and safe physical environment for patients and staff.
· Communicate information regarding patients' behavior to other members of the treatment team.
· Encourages and facilitates patients' participation in therapeutic activities.
· Orients new patients to the facility, program, and setting.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum six (6) months of experience in a behavioral health or acute hospital preferred.
- Basic Life Support.
- Strong observational skills, physical stamina, and a patient, judgment-free demeanor.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
Physical Demands
· Requires mobility and physical activity: Having an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in an office, residential, or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), sitting for extended periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30 pounds.
· Use of computer and telephone systems is required.
· Requires communication with employees, clients, patients, and the public, and in those activities in which the employee is required to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
· Requires great listening skills to receive and communicate detailed information through oral and written communication.
· Regular observation of clients is an essential job function to observe clients’ behavior and activities in and out of the facility.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
