Seeking an experienced FedEx Ground BC (Business Contact) /Operations Manager for a FedEx Ground Independent Service Provider operating in the Montgomery, AL terminal at 120 Folmar Parkway.
This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing the daily pickup and delivery operation. The ideal candidate has experience managing a large team of package delivery drivers, understands route planning and dispatch, and leads by example in a fast-paced environment. This is not a traditional office role, you will be actively supporting drivers, solving operational challenges, and stepping in wherever needed to keep the operation running smoothly.
**This is not a Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5 PM position. It will require some long-hour days and weekend work.

Work Schedule : 6 days a week
Pay: $1,250.00 - $1,400.00 per week

KEY QUALITIES:
· FedEx Manager or BC experience preferred, but will consider UPS, Amazon, DHL, etc.

MANAGE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS:
- Responsible for ensuring all daily P&D routes are staffed, trucks are operational, and the routes are generating sufficient revenue
- Responsible for recording and reporting timesheets for payroll
- Develop and maintain relationships with reputable and affordable vendors to perform fleet maintenance and repairs
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repairs on equipment at regular intervals to avoid unnecessary breakdowns
- Responsible for training/coordinating training of every new driver to ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations
- Responsible for ensuring drivers are compliant with daily duties regarding paperwork, Hours of Service compliance, Pre-Trip/Post-Trip Inspections
- Create a culture of safety, ensuring each driver is up to date on all monthly safety training
- Coordinate with FedEx ground staff in order to execute a plan that maximizes the profitability of the company
- Responsible for ensuring we are providing quality service to FedEx Ground with available drivers and operable equipment to pick up and deliver packages
- Responsible for managing budget and expenses for a designated terminal/location
- Works closely with Fleet Manager to ensure the fleet is operating and maintenance is routinely performed on all trucks
- Responsible for performance management of all drivers assigned to terminal/location
- Physically willing, ready, and able to drive a P-1000 sized vehicle and safely pick up and deliver packages to both residential and commercial recipients in the event of lead driver being out or any other unforeseen circumstances
- Excellent contingency planner
- Establish relationships with part-time drivers as well as other FedEx contractors in the building to help one another out in times of need
- Cross train lead drivers to handle operations and provide support to the manager
MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a MVR check and
- Clean motor vehicle record
- Must be able to pass a drug test and dot physical
- Prior management experience and/or a college degree is a must.
- One year of driving experience over the last 3 years or five year’s experience over the last ten years-
- Must be over 21 years of age
- No felonies/violent misdemeanors or drug-related misdemeanors in the last ten years
Pay: $1,250.00 - $1,400.00 per week
