Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improvements based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and assembling ingredients efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
- Use proper knife skills for precise cutting, slicing, dicing, and carving to optimize efficiency and safety
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining consistency and quality
- Serve dishes promptly to ensure timely delivery to guests or service staff, maintaining a lively kitchen atmosphere
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with knowledge of food handling, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety practices
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong skills in meal preparation, food industry standards, and kitchen operations are essential
- Knowledge of menu planning, food safety protocols, and catering processes enhances your suitability for this role
