Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cashier/Stocker to join our team at a busy grocery store. This role is essential for ensuring that our customers have a pleasant shopping experience by providing excellent service at the cash register and maintaining well-stocked shelves. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, processing transactions, and assisting with stock replenishment.
Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register efficiently, handling customer transactions accurately.
- Stock shelves with products, ensuring that items are organized and displayed attractively.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory control to prevent stock shortages.
- Use RF scanners to track stock movement and manage product placement.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a clean and safe shopping environment.
- Assist customers with inquiries and provide product information as needed.
- Perform basic retail math calculations for accurate pricing and discounts.
- Utilize forklifts and pallet jacks safely when moving large quantities of stock.
Skills
- Experience in grocery store operations or retail environments is preferred.
- Proficient in cash register operations and handling financial transactions.
- Familiarity with inventory control processes and stock management.
- Ability to operate RF scanners for efficient tracking of merchandise.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Basic knowledge of retail math for pricing accuracy and sales calculations.
- Experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus but not required.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail in all tasks.
