We are looking for a “Lead-to-Close” Business Development Director
For more than twenty years, our company has been utilizing proprietary methodology to provide Fortune 500 clients with a unique additional profit stream from their supply chain – measurable at the EPS level.

Travel: We prefer to conduct sales and client meetings in person. While travel will vary considerably, it is not expected to exceed 30%.
Location: Candidates must live within a one hour drive of a major U.S airport.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Executive team to develop and implement strategic business development initiatives to drive growth and increase revenue
- Generate leads, along with other team members, by utilizing networking skills with new and existing contacts and by attending conferences (2-3 times per year)
- Guide prospects through the entire sales cycle, from initial engagement to final signature
- Build relationships with potential clients to foster trust, loyalty, and long-term partnerships and maintain senior level relationships post sale.
- Initiate regular, consistent communication (calls, emails, meetings) to understand potential client needs/objections
- As a trusted partner both within the company and with customers, offer insights into industry trends and advise on best practices
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in business development/sales with a service provider
- Experience selling to senior executives at Fortune 500 companies
- Preference for experience with accounting processes and terms in job experience
- Proven track record in closing sales and managing the full sales cycle
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for relationship building
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Expectations and Compensation
Compensation for this role consists of a base salary plus commissions. Commission is earned as a percentage of revenue received from clients signed by the Director. We will also offer a graduated additional bonus over the first eighteen months to allow time for knowledge development and for the Director’s commission earning portfolio to develop.
The expectation is that after a period of knowledge development, acclimation, and pipeline building, the Director will be able to close approximately one account per quarter, targeting companies with at least $2B in annual vendor spend. Given success in the target client acquisition range, annual compensation should range from $750K by year three to over $1M by year four.
Pay: $150,000.00 - $1,000,000.00 per year
