ESTATE PLANNING/TRUSTS PARALEGAL!! SUBURBAN LAW FIRM! Outstanding, rare opportunity exists in a highly regarded defense law firm for an experienced probate/ estate planning paralegal.
Candidates must possess 1-5 years of probate/estate planning paralegal experience, as well as excellent credentials and a willingness to learn.
- Assist attorneys in all areas of estate planning, estate administration, guardianship, and trust administration.
- Coordinate signing meetings and document execution for estate planning matters.
- Accept and process new client intakes; open, maintain, and close client files per firm procedures.
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, copying, faxing, etc.
- Draft estate planning documents, including Wills, Trust Agreements, Powers of Attorney, Advanced Directives, and Deeds.
- Draft probate documents for estate, guardianship, and trust administration, including Trust Reports and related correspondence.
- Maintain a calendar and database of all administration and estate planning files, ensuring deadlines and key dates are tracked accurately.
- Gather and obtain valuations for real property, stock, savings bonds, vehicles, etc.
- Interact with clients, court personnel, and related parties via telephone and email, delivering a high standard of responsiveness and professionalism.
- Meet billable goals established by practice management
- Meet regularly with attorneys and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Serve as liaison between the firm, clients, advisors, and beneficiaries.
- Monitor and track estate and trust administration developments and ensure timely updates to attorneys and clients.
- Manage the sale of real property assets including the coordination of estate sales, home cleanouts, and preparation of property for the market.
- Work closely with liquidators and realtors.
- Attend hearings with legal counsel.
- Strong knowledge of local court rules is required.
Ideal candidates will have experience preparing federal and state individual and fiduciary income tax returns, gift tax returns, and estate and inheritance tax returns and must have excellent client relationship skills and ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner and under minimal supervision.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
