The packer is responsible for packing products according to specifications & attaching labels to each packed piece, ensuring customers receive the correct products. There are a variety of positions within this description, including breakdown, tray builder, box pull down, box builders, ticketers, and ball transfer. The following duties are an overview of each position’s responsibilities-

Breakdown

Space chairs out on the line, use provided tool to break down KD back

Fold outside back flat, place it on arms, & place bag over it

Tray Builder

Build trays according to specifications

Build suspensions according to specifications
-
Place tray on conveyor, pick up chair & place on top of it
-
Box Pull-Down

Turn conveyor on & off
-
Pull box from rack, inspecting for damage or other nonconformance issues
-
Place box over chair & position chair at appropriate angle to continue seamlessly down the packing line

Remove shipping ticket & place between box flaps
-
Assist in repairs & repacks

Box Builder
-
Build boxes to the correct specifications & quantities needed for the day using glue & staples
-
Ensure all boxes going through system are glued correctly
-
Inspect for damaged boxes & move them to correct area
-
Ticketer
-
Attach shipping tickets
-
Monitor glue stations to make sure they are properly maintained

Assist with repairs & repacks

Ball Transfer

Ensure all boxes are properly sealed

Pull packing tickets
-
Scan in barcode to show chair is packed

Key audit chairs into system
-
Communicate loading information with warehouse
The packer will perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
