American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position requiring active SC or compact RN licensure and a minimum of 1 year of Epic EMR experience.

13-week contract in a hospital Cardiac Telemetry unit
-
Adult patient population including observation status and inpatient overflow with diagnoses such as chest pain/ACS, cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, CVA/TIA/stroke workup, diabetes, syncope, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, and GI bleed
-
Procedures include cardiac/telemetry monitoring, permanent pacemaker pacing, TEE, negative pressure isolation (AFB), thoracentesis/paracentesis, and Level 3 IV infusions and push medications

Medication systems used: Pyxis and Omnicell

EMR: Epic (minimum 1 year of experience required)

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30

Every other weekend required, subject to change based on unit needs

Floating required to like units at the same facility or nearby campuses based on census needs

Active SC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac telemetry nursing experience

Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required

Driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration

Responsibilities include cardiac/telemetry monitoring, patient assessment, coordination of testing and procedures, administration of IV medications, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and specialty services including cardiology, neurology, general surgery, and orthopedics

Floating is conducted only to units where competencies have already been demonstrated and documented

First-time travelers will be considered depending on experience

For this unit and shift (Adult Cardiac Tele, nights), candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible — candidates under 50 miles are ineligible
