Job Title: Director of Plant Operations
Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Salary: $160,000-$210,000 per year plus bonus
Job Summary:As the leader of Plant Maintenance and Engineering in a fast-paced facility, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime. Implementing advanced maintenance systems like Preventative and Predictive Maintenance and TPM will drive the plant towards peak performance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead capital projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time completion within budget and maintaining safety and environmental standards.
- Manage all phases to minimize operational disruption and enhance plant capabilities through strategic improvements.
- Develop and implement advanced maintenance strategies to optimize plant performance.
- Lead and motivate the maintenance team through effective delegation and policy enforcement.
- Solve operational challenges efficiently to ensure smooth production.
- Drive continuous improvement by tracking Key Performance Indicators across all plant areas.
- Develop high-performing engineering teams through coaching and HR collaboration.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field with 10+ years of experience in Engineering management.
- Candidates with a Master's degree and 8+ years of experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of leadership experience including team development and management.
- Advanced technical skills in mechanical/electrical fields and resource planning in manufacturing.
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, and TPM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal, technical, and presentation skills.
- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends if required.
- Preferred knowledge of pork products and the Meat Industry.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and build strong working relationships.
