Therapist (CSAC / CSAC-S) – Medical Detox & Residential Treatment
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Therapist to join our team at a primary substance abuse medical detox and residential treatment facility. The ideal candidate will be a CSAC or CSAC-S (open to LCSW or LPC with SUD experience) with experience providing clinical services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This position plays a key role in supporting patients throughout their recovery journey through individual counseling, group facilitation, treatment planning, and clinical documentation.
Prior experience working in a behavioral health or substance abuse treatment center is preferred. Experience working with the Medicaid population is a plus.
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling services to patients in medical detox and residential treatment settings
- Complete biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely manner
- Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups focused on recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, and emotional wellness
- Collaborate with nursing, medical, case management, and behavioral health staff to coordinate patient care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment interventions as clinically appropriate
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with state, Medicaid, and Joint Commission standards
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case reviews
- Support discharge planning and aftercare coordination to promote continuity of care
- Maintain professional boundaries and provide compassionate, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- CSAC or CSAC-S required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred
- Prior experience working in a substance abuse treatment center, detox, residential, or behavioral health setting preferred
- Experience working with the Medicaid population is a plus
- Strong understanding of substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and recovery principles
- Experience facilitating group therapy and individual counseling sessions
- Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and compliance requirements
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Familiarity with ASAM criteria and levels of care
- Experience with EMR systems such as KIPU or similar platforms
- Knowledge of Joint Commission and state regulatory standards
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
