Dean of Academics and Adult Education
Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) serves the communities of Central Louisiana through five campuses—Alexandria Main Campus, Huey P. Long Campus (Winnfield), Ferriday Campus, Rod Brady Campus (Jena), and Ward H. Nash Avoyelles Campus (Cottonport)—as well as multiple correctional instructional sites.
Position is domiciled at the Alexandria Campus.
SUMMARY:
The Program Dean provides strategic leadership, management, and oversight for General Education, Adult Education, Business, Drafting, and Cybersecurity programs. The Dean is responsible for ensuring academic quality, regulatory compliance, student success, workforce alignment, and continuous improvement across assigned instructional areas. This position supervises faculty and staff, manages budgets and resources, supports curriculum development, fosters partnerships with business and industry, and advances the college's mission of workforce development and student achievement.
The Dean collaborates with college leadership, faculty, community partners, and employers to develop innovative educational programs that meet the needs of students, employers, and the regional workforce.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Academic Leadership and Program Management
- Provide leadership and administration for General Education, Adult Education, Business, Drafting, and Cybersecurity programs.
- Ensure instructional programs maintain high academic and workforce standards.
- Lead strategic planning, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives for assigned programs.
- Monitor program effectiveness through enrollment, retention, completion, licensure, credential attainment, and employment outcomes.
- Promote excellence in teaching, learning, and student engagement.
- Ensure compliance with institutional, state, federal, accreditation, and programmatic requirements.
Faculty and Staff Supervision
- Supervise, evaluate, and support full-time and adjunct faculty and assigned staff
- Coordinate recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and professional development activities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to support employee growth and effectiveness.
- Foster collaboration and communication among academic departments.
- Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and student-centered instruction.
Curriculum Development and Quality Assurance
- Lead curriculum review, development, and revision processes.
- Ensure programs remain responsive to workforce trends, industry needs, and emerging technologies.
- Coordinate program accreditation, program reviews, and assessment activities as required.
- Support the integration of instructional technologies and innovative teaching methods.
- Ensure course offerings align with degree, certificate, and workforce training requirements.
Adult Education Leadership
- Oversee Adult Education initiatives.
- Support programming that promotes high school equivalency attainment, literacy development, workforce preparation, and transition to postsecondary education.
- Monitor performance outcomes and accountability measures associated with Adult Education programs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal Adult Education requirements.
Workforce and Industry Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with business, industry, workforce development organizations, economic development agencies, and community partners.
- Establish advisory committees and facilitate industry engagement activities.
- Identify workforce training opportunities and support customized training initiatives.
- Collaborate with employers to align program offerings with labor market needs.
- Support initiatives that expand work-based learning, internships, apprenticeships, and industry certifications.
Budget and Resource Management
- Develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure effective stewardship of institutional resources.
- Assist with equipment purchases, grant-funded initiatives, and resource allocation.
- Participate in facilities planning and equipment modernization efforts.
Student Success and Enrollment Management
- Support student recruitment, retention, completion, and employment initiatives.
- Collaborate with student services personnel to address student needs and barriers to success.
- Analyze enrollment and completion data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Promote pathways that support seamless transitions from Adult Education to credit and workforce programs.
Compliance and Reporting
- Prepare reports and documentation required by college leadership, accrediting bodies, state agencies, and system offices.
- Ensure compliance with all institutional policies and applicable regulations.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies for improvement.
- Support grant-funded projects and reporting requirements as assigned.
College Service and Leadership
- Serve on institutional committees and leadership teams.
- Participate in strategic planning and college-wide initiatives.
- Represent the college at community, educational, and professional events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice Chancellor or Provost.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Business, Cybersecurity, Technology, Workforce Development, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, workforce development, or adult education.
- Demonstrated experience in academic leadership, faculty supervision, or program management.
- Experience with budget management, strategic planning, and program assessment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in a related field.
- Community college leadership experience.
- Experience overseeing multiple academic and workforce programs
- Knowledge of Adult Education accountability requirements and workforce development initiatives.
- Experience with accreditation processes and outcomes-based assessment.
- Experience managing grant-funded programs.
- Strong business and industry engagement experience.
