MBA Engineers, Inc. is looking for a Civil Engineer with at least 4 to 10 years’ experience in site design. If you are a P.E., working towards a P.E., or a Civil Project manager in this field, MBA may have an opportunity for you.
MBA sees a variety of high profile, meaningful projects in the local Alabama area. Projects include a multitude of building types including, Education, Higher Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Transportation, Subdivision, Utility, and more. ALDOT experience a plus. Problem solving, working in a team environment are part of the daily tasks. Other key skills include site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, erosion control design, and plan production. Roads and Transportation experience a plus.
The ideal candidate will possess many of the following qualifications:
- Stormwater experience.
- Site layout experience.
- Grading experience.
- Utilities design and coordination experience.
- Hydrologic & Hydraulic modeling (i.e., H & H) experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation software.
- Supervisory or lead worker/team lead experience.
Responsibilities For This Position Include
- Initiates and reviews detail-oriented civil engineering design.
- Typically works on civil-site projects including preparation of grading, drainage, site layout, utility, and erosion control plans.
- Provides technical input and guidance for client conversations and multi-discipline design meetings.
- Develops hydrology models, calculates earthwork volumes, and other similar calculations.
- Attends client meetings as needed.
- Prepares design reports and construction plans using local, state, and federal standards.
- Coordinates preparation of specifications and permit submittals.
- Prepares preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities.
- Assists with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.
- Monitors task budget and progress.
- Documents design changes and communications.
- Conducts on-site inspections as needed.
- Prepare project status and other reports.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals.
- Performs other duties as required.
