Tan Republic is seeking a strategic, creative and highly organized Franchise Brand Communications & Marketing Manager to help shape how our brand communicates with customers, franchise owners, employees and the communities we serve.
This position will work directly with the CEO and Founder to translate Tan Republic’s vision, values and business priorities into clear, consistent and effective internal and external communications.
The right candidate will understand that strong marketing is more than producing attractive graphics or generating ideas. This role requires someone who can develop the message, organize the campaign, coordinate the necessary resources and ensure the work is completed accurately and on time.
The Role
The Franchise Brand Communications & Marketing Manager will serve as a steward of the Tan Republic brand voice and vision. This person will help ensure that communications across the franchise system remain consistent, recognizable and aligned with the customer experience we want every location to deliver.
The position will support both consumer-facing marketing and internal franchise communications, helping connect company leadership, franchise owners, salon teams, marketing partners and outside vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Voice & Vision
- Work directly with the CEO and Founder to understand and communicate the long-term vision of Tan Republic.
- Protect and strengthen the company’s brand voice across all communication channels.
- Ensure marketing reflects Tan Republic’s personality: modern, confident, welcoming, locally connected and customer-focused.
- Maintain consistency in messaging, terminology, tone, visual direction and customer promises.
- Develop and maintain brand messaging guidelines that can be used by franchisees, employees, agencies and vendors.
- Help communicate Tan Republic’s commitment to providing world-class tanning with local smiles and service.
Internal Franchise Communications
- Develop clear and professional communications for franchise owners, salon managers and employees.
- Prepare announcements, operational updates, campaign instructions, training communications and leadership messages.
- Create communication calendars so franchisees receive information with adequate time to prepare and execute.
- Organize promotional details, deadlines, required assets and implementation instructions.
- Improve communication between the franchise company and its locations by making messages easier to understand and act upon.
- Gather franchisee feedback and help leadership identify recurring communication or marketing needs.
- Maintain organized archives of approved messaging, campaign materials and brand resources.
External Marketing Communications
- Develop customer-facing messaging for promotions, memberships, services, new locations and company initiatives.
- Write and edit content for email, text messaging, websites, social media, digital advertising, print materials and in-salon displays.
- Ensure marketing clearly communicates the value of Tan Republic memberships, services and customer benefits.
- Support public relations, community announcements and reputation-management communications.
- Help create campaigns that are compelling to customers while remaining practical for franchise locations to implement.
- Review external communications for accuracy, tone, brand consistency and legal or promotional clarity before publication.
Marketing Planning & Campaign Execution
- Help develop annual, quarterly and monthly marketing calendars.
- Coordinate campaign concepts, copy, design needs, approvals, deadlines and distribution.
- Work with graphic designers, social-media agencies, printers, technology vendors and other marketing partners.
- Prepare complete creative briefs that clearly communicate the objective, audience, offer, required assets and desired outcome.
- Ensure approved marketing materials are delivered to franchisees in an organized and usable format.
- Track campaign implementation and follow up when materials, approvals or actions are incomplete.
- Support grand openings, seasonal promotions, membership campaigns and new-service launches.
- Balance long-term brand development with the immediate marketing needs of franchise locations.
Digital & Content Management
- Assist with website content, location pages, promotional landing pages and service descriptions.
- Coordinate email and SMS campaigns across the franchise system.
- Support social-media messaging and content direction while maintaining consistency between national and local accounts.
- Review digital assets for accuracy, brand alignment and customer clarity.
- Help organize photography, video, testimonials and other reusable brand content.
- Maintain a centralized library of current logos, templates, campaign assets and approved messaging.
Measurement & Improvement
- Review campaign performance, customer engagement and franchisee participation.
- Use available data to evaluate what messaging and promotions are producing results.
- Collect feedback from franchise owners, salon teams and customers.
- Recommend improvements based on performance rather than personal preference alone.
- Develop repeatable processes that improve the consistency and efficiency of future campaigns.
- Provide regular updates to the CEO and Founder on active projects, results and upcoming priorities.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in brand communications, franchise marketing, corporate communications, marketing management or a related role.
- Exceptional writing, editing and verbal-communication skills.
- Ability to understand a founder’s vision and translate it into clear messaging for different audiences.
- Strong understanding of brand voice, customer experience and multi-channel marketing.
- Proven ability to manage projects from initial concept through final execution.
- Excellent organization, follow-through and attention to detail.
- Comfortable coordinating multiple agencies, vendors, franchisees and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain deadlines.
- Experience with email marketing, SMS, websites, social media and digital-content platforms.
- Ability to review performance data and use it to improve future marketing decisions.
- Experience in franchising, tanning, beauty, wellness, fitness, hospitality or membership-based businesses is preferred.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is both a strategic communicator and a strong executor.
You should be able to sit with the Founder, understand the purpose behind an idea and turn it into a polished message, organized campaign and actionable plan for the franchise system. You should also be comfortable protecting the brand when messaging or creative work does not align with the company’s established voice and vision.
This position requires someone who can bring structure to creative work, communicate professionally with different personalities and ensure that strong ideas are carried through to completion.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means:
- Franchise owners receive clearer and more timely communications.
- Marketing campaigns are planned earlier and executed more consistently.
- Customers experience a recognizable Tan Republic voice across every channel.
- Agencies and vendors receive better direction and produce stronger work.
- Internal and external messages reflect the CEO and Founder’s vision.
- Marketing decisions are supported by data, feedback and measurable results.
- Approved initiatives move from concept to execution without unnecessary delays.
