1. MAIN PURPOSE
This role is responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and repair of the plant’s industrial and facility electrical equipment. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert in the electrical trade. Reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow all safety requirements associated with this position including LOTO, JSA, Arc-Flash, Electrical Safe Work Permitting, and Confined Spaces.
*
Ensure reliable operation of industrial manufacturing machinery and equipment by performing inspections, preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance. Recommend alterations to preventative maintenance as more data is collected.
*
Troubleshooting, repairing (where applicable), and/or replacing all electrical components in 24VDC, 120VAC, 240VAC, 480VAC, and 600VAC (Canada) control and power systems. Examples of components include breakers, fuses, SSR’s, motors, Variable Frequency Drives, and power supplies.
*
Troubleshooting, repairing (where applicable), and/or replacing instrumentation / PLC components in electrical systems. Examples of components include thermocouples, encoders, I/O Cards, PLC’s, light curtains, and safety scanners.
*
Subject Matter expertise of all NEC, NFPA, and OSHA / CSA requirements for electrical work when performing new machine installations, repairs, or other maintenance activities. Capable of communicating these requirements to co-workers.

Basic understanding of PLC Ladder Logic related to Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Omron PLC’s.

Able to safely use electrical test equipment: Multi-meter, amp meter, megger, circuit tracer, and thermal camera.
*
Assist the general maintenance crew with equipment rebuilds, plant shutdowns, and new equipment installations.
*
Assist all departments with breakdowns.
3. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LANGUAGE, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Academic Level:
*
2 year Technical degree/electrical certification (can also be achieved via military service) or equivalent amount of work experience.
*
Language(s) and level of proficiency:

Knowledge/Experience:
*
3-5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical & electrical maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment
*
Physical requirements for the position such as mobility, vision, strength, etc. (applicable in line with local laws):
*
Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objects
*
Mobility sufficient to allow frequent entrance and exits from lift truck.
*
Must be able to wear dust mask, earplugs, face shields as necessary
*
Ability to climb ladders, listen to equipment, look for defects in product and sense temperature changes in the finished product
*
Stand and walk long distances on the plant floor for 8 to 12 hours on a shift and work around hot machinery.
*
Occasional climbing, reaching, squatting and bending to operate and fix equipment
*
Work in an environment that may be exposed to external elements (hot and cold temperatures) and occasional loud noises.

Able to lift and carry, push/pull up to 50lbs multiple times per shift
