PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under strict supervision, an employee performs routine skilled office clerical tasks as assigned by the Court Administrator in the office of the Municipal Judge.
SUPERVISION AND GUIDELINES:
Work is performed with little latitude for independent decision making. Employees are required to work under direct supervision of the Court Administrator at the direction of the Municipal Judge.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision of Court Administrator, performs in a variety of clerical, administrative, and customer service duties and in support of court operations. Processes court documents, collects payments as needed and provides information while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and court policies.
DUTIES:
· Receive, review, process and file court documents, citations and related records.
· Enter case information into case management system
· Assist the public and law enforcement agencies by providing case status when applicable.
· Prepare court dockets and other court documents.
· Maintain accurate court records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
· Assist judge and court staff during court proceedings as assigned.
· Answer telephone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide customer service in-person, by phone and electronically.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge in computer operations to include data entry with proficient efficiency.
Good knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar, basic arithmetic, filing, record keeping and modern office practices. Ability to plan and organize work; to establish effective working relationships with associates and the public; to operate modern office equipment such as a calculator, copier, etc.; to type at a rate of forty-five (45) words per minute. ability to transcribe from a recorder at the rate of thirty-five (35) words per minute. Basic knowledge of responsibilities, functions and organizations working under the municipal government/court.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
1. High school diploma or certificate of successful completion of the General Education Development (GED) test.
2. Six (6) months experience in skilled office clerical tasks.
3. Bilingual proficiency in the English and Spanish language is desirable.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATES, OTHER
1. Valid Driver License

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL FACTORS:
Work is primary in an office setting. Evening and weekend work may be required. May be required to attend seminars and training sessions relating to municipal court administration.
Pay: $17.66 per hour
