Our client is a full-service injection-molding manufacturer that designs, engineers, and produces precision plastic components for industries ranging from medical and consumer products to defense and aerospace. We're seeking a talented Operations Manager to lead end-to-end operations—procurement, production, and distribution—to hit targets for quality, cost, delivery, and team development.
- Plan capacity and level-load schedules; manage MRP/ERP for materials, BOMs, and work centers to ensure on-time orders.
- Track machine utilization and throughput; drive Lean improvements to boost productivity and reduce labor inefficiency.
- Oversee inventory accuracy (cycle counts, shortage mitigation, safety stock) and new equipment projects (business case development, vendor negotiation, project timelines).
- Partner with Quality and Engineering on standardized processes, launch readiness, and cost reduction; develop and execute contingency plans when needed.
- Champion automation and continuous improvement initiatives, including evaluation of AI and technology-driven solutions to optimize throughput and labor efficiency.
- Lead and develop leaders: directly manage 7 functional managers (Production, Purchasing, Master Scheduling, Tool Room, Engineering, Maintenance, and Shipping) with approximately 70 indirect reports.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of progressive operations leadership in injection molding, precision manufacturing, or a closely related high-volume manufacturing environment. Strong candidates from automotive, aerospace, food production, or comparable industries are encouraged to apply.
- Deep knowledge of production planning, supply chain and inventory management, Lean principles, and budgeting/financial management.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, BOMs, routings, labor and capacity planning.
- Experience with automation systems, OEE tools, or AI-driven production analytics is a strong differentiator; familiarity with injection molding and scientific molding principles is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams, set clear goals and standards, coach talent, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced plant environment.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
