With minimal supervision, the General Maintenance Worker performs a wide variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks, including electrical work, carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, HVAC assistance, and facility repairs.

Qualifications:
Education: GED or High School diploma. One year experience in general maintenance, repair and grounds maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ensure the cleaning and maintenance of all buildings and property according to contract specifications.

Perform custodial tasks as needed per contract schedule requirements and standards.

Perform grounds maintenance duties per contract schedule, requirements, and standards.
-
Use weed eater, pull weeds, and provide weed control.
-
Complete general facility maintenance tasks when required.
-
Be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance repairs and then complete minor repairs per contract requirements.

Assist with repairs and projects according to contract needs.

Perform and have the ability to assist in repair and conduct routine maintenance of equipment in the following areas:

HVAC – basic understanding, but expertise not required.

Machine/Carpentry

Facilities Maintenance
-
Electrical Maintenance – basic understanding, but expertise not required.

Plumbing
-
Small engines & equipment
-
Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
-
Operate a fleet vehicle and drive to contract locations throughout southeast New Mexico to assist or complete contractual obligations.

Accept and accomplish special assignments from supervisor.
-
Perform light floor maintenance as required to include stripping, waxing, buffing, and deep carpet cleaning.

Willingness to perform job outside of traditional working hours.

Willingness to travel up to three hundred miles per day as part of the working schedule.
