Job Summary
As a Childcare Teacher Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the care, supervision, and development of children, ranging from infants to preschool-aged children. You will help maintain a safe and positive environment and assist in implementing educational activities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor children during playtime, meals, nap time, and other activities to ensure safety and well-being.
- Assist in implementing age-appropriate learning activities such as arts and crafts, games, reading, and songs.
- Help children with daily personal care routines such as feeding, diapering, dressing, and toileting.
- Ensure that the environment is clean, safe, and conducive to learning and development.
- Foster good behavior through positive reinforcement, guiding children in resolving conflicts and promoting social skills.
- Work with other staff to ensure the smooth operation of the classroom, assisting with lesson delivery and providing individual support to children.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a childcare or early childhood education setting is preferred but not required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal communication skills to interact with children, parents, and coworkers effectively.
- Ability to remain calm and understanding in challenging situations.
- Ability to stay on your feet for long periods and assist children physically as needed.
- Works well with others.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.92 - $17.00 per hour
