ElderSpan Management has a rare opportunity for a compassionate, organized and detailed Human Resources Professional to join our team in Madison at the Business Office! The Director of Human Resources is a key member of the leadership/administrative support team and will work onsite at our office on Madison’s north side. This position will report directly to the CEO.

Hours: M-F, Generally 8am-5pm
Salary Range: Based on Experience
Director of Human Resources responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Administer benefit programs, workers' compensation, unemployment and retirement plan including enrollment activities, claims resolution, change reporting and reconciliation
- Implements, updates and analyzes compensation program and budgets merit increases and bonuses
- Oversee the daily administration of HR services such as recruitment, selection, promotions and transfers
- Investigate and resolve ongoing employee relations problems and develop, recommend and initiate appropriate steps for resolutions
- Develop, implement and supervise all training activities, including conferring with supervisors to determine best practices and trainings needs, selecting or formulating materials, and selecting trainers
- Develop, prepare, generate and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data, including but not limited to issues such as benefit costs, staffing levels, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, compensation, promotions, etc. Effectively utilize the data processing system to obtain, store and analyze pertinent data and information
What qualifications are we looking for in a Director of Human Resources?
- 4 or more years Human Resources experience
- 2 or more years supervisory experience
- PHR certification of SPHR certification preferred
- Knowledge of specialized principles or techniques equivalent to those that would be normally obtained through a formal four-year college/university academic program or an in-depth specialized training program directly related to the type of work to be performed
- Knowledge of employment law
- Knowledge of long-term care and/or assisted living preferred
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resources Information System/Software
