Job Overview:
We are seeking a Service technician. The ideal candidate will be trained to perform maintenance on HVAC systems in both residential and commercial settings. Will also perform light repairs and be in training to repair systems.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues accurately and efficiently.
- Replace defective components, including compressors, motors, thermostats, capacitors, contactors, and control boards.
- Perform system startups, testing, and inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Explain repair options and maintenance recommendations to customers in a professional manner.
- Complete service tickets, work orders, and documentation accurately using company software.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service vehicle.
- Follow all EPA, OSHA, and company safety regulations and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
- Participate in an on-call rotation when required.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide exceptional customer service at every job.
- Work collaboratively with dispatch, office staff, and fellow technicians to ensure efficient scheduling and customer satisfaction.
- Stay current on HVAC technologies, products, and industry best practices through ongoing training.
- Must have good driving record, driver's license and ability to safely drive company vehicle once training is complete.
Qualifications:
- Have or be willing to obtain Current EPA card
- Willingness and ability to learn and assist with all aspects of the HVAC industry, especially during maintenance off seasons.
- Knowledge and ability to perform system commissioning and start-ups.

Technical / Mechanical Skills
- Understanding of HVAC systems
- Gas furnaces, electric furnaces, heat pumps, AC systems
- Basic airflow principles (CFM, static pressure basics)
- Electrical fundamentals
- Reading wiring diagrams
- Using a multimeter (voltage, continuity, resistance)
- Identifying common electrical failures (capacitors, contactors, relays)
- Refrigeration basics
- Superheat & subcooling fundamentals
- Safe refrigerant handling
- Leak detection basics
- Component identification
- Motors, blowers, burners, ignitors, flame sensors
- Coils, TXVs, reversing valves
- Basic troubleshooting
- Identify symptoms vs root causes
- Follow a logical diagnostic process (not parts-swapping)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
