Steel-Fab, Inc. is a local fabrication shop that specializes in Boeing Tooling. We are currently seeking reliable, deadline oriented MIG and TIG Welder/Fitters to join our team. To be successful in this role, candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent physical dexterity and superb attention to detail. Vocational training or welding certification is an advantage but not necessary; 2-3 years MIG or TIG welding and fabrication experience working in a manufacturing or related environment is preferred. Pay rates are dependent upon weld test results at time of interview.

Roles & Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
- Must be able to read and understand a tape measure to 1/32” and understand measurements in decimals.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and other shop drawings accurately.
- Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
- Selecting, measuring, and joining appropriate metals to specifications.
- Tig welds or tack-welds aluminum and stainless steel. Examines welded components to detect defects.
- Determine appropriate heat and gas ratios to maintain proper weld penetration and quality standards.
- Diagnose issues that occur during fabrication and welding procedures and troubleshoot as required, reporting any major issues that arise to the department supervisor.
- Use of required PPE to protect self from bodily injuries that may arise from heat, spark, splatter, and slag.
- Occasional cutting, drilling and grinding of material or parts is required.
- Occasionally operates a forklift to transport materials.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift and reach for the duration of shift.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for the duration of shift.
- Ability to use hands for duration of shift.
- Ability to keep up with productivity goals.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other shop drawings.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
- Knowledge of equipment.
- Previous welding experience (3-5 years)
- Weld test required.
