Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to ensure a spotless environment.
- Handle various cleaning tasks in public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and dining spaces to maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
- Use appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents safely while adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and sanitation protocols.
- Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, polishing, and carpet cleaning to uphold high standards of cleanliness.
- Manage heavy lifting tasks related to moving furniture or supplies while following manual handling safety procedures.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly and accurately in case of incidents or hazards.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping, janitorial work, or industrial cleaning with a strong understanding of sanitation standards.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and steam cleaners.
- Knowledge of chemical handling procedures and safety protocols including SDS comprehension.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely for quality assurance.
- Previous experience managing housekeeping tasks within a hospitality setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
