Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Lead Painter to oversee and execute high-quality painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Duties
- Lead and supervise painting crews on multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly through cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and surface repairs to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Execute a variety of painting techniques including brush, roller, spray (conventional and airless), and specialty coatings for diverse surfaces such as drywall, stucco, masonry, and metal.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to accurately execute renovation or restoration projects.
- Manage construction estimating tasks related to paint jobs, including material calculations and project scope assessments.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by implementing proper use of respiratory protection, fall protection (ladders), power tools, hand tools, and scaffolding.
- Maintain detailed documentation of project progress, safety protocols adherence, and quality inspections throughout each phase of work.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of construction painting surface preparation techniques and coating applications.
- Proficiency in residential, commercial, industrial painting as well as specialty finishes like stucco or masonry coatings.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, paint sprayers (including airless spray), power tools, scaffolding, ladders, and related equipment.
- Strong understanding of color theory for visual color matching and aesthetic consistency.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and renovation plans accurately.
- Experience with construction estimating processes including material needs assessment and basic math skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations including respiratory protection protocols and safe ladder use practices.
- Familiarity with carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry), drywall installation/repair (plastering), caulking/fixture installation for comprehensive project execution.
- Background in construction site experience with a focus on renovation or restoration projects involving masonry or concrete finishing.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients while maintaining safety standards.
