Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Supervisor to oversee the efficient management of incoming goods and materials within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of inventory management processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Summary: responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound shipments and inventory control of material and finished goods, including primary and secondary warehouses and transfers.
· Picking orders, packaging, labeling, palletizing and verifying counts of inbound and outbound loads.
· Tracking and reporting inventory.
· Coordinating with internal logistics and intercompany transfer of goods and materials.
· Manage aged inventory and product curing controls.
· Assuring SQF, food safety, regulatory and customer requirements regarding finished good shipments.
· Operate warehouse equipment, forklift/hand jack, freight elevator and manage equipment appropriately.
· Conduct OSHA level training certification for Portage, and certify trainers for other facilities as needed.
· Follow all OSHA regulations as prescribed.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouses and shipping docks at all times.
Required Job Skills:
· Must be able to operate forklifts, load/unload trucks and operate docks.
· Must have above average math skills.
· Must maintain good driving record and be insurable within company insurance guidelines.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and colleagues.
· Intermediate computer proficiency required.
· High level organizational skills for electronic and physical recordkeeping.
· Must be self-motivated and able to work with urgency and meet deadlines.
· Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to work in cold environment of 35-45 degrees F continuously.
· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. repetitively and up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
· Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
