Full-Time Maintenance Technician / Skilled Handyman
Vacation Rental & Property Management Company – Naples, FL
Looking for an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance Technician / Skilled Handyman to join our team full-time.
We manage vacation rental homes throughout the Naples area, and we are looking for someone who is truly a jack of all trades—someone who can walk into a property, assess a problem, figure out what is happening, and either repair it or determine the appropriate next step.
This is not a position for someone who needs to be given detailed instructions for every task. We need an independent problem solver who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and comes to work with a professional and positive attitude.
What You’ll Do
Your work will vary from day to day and may include:
- Troubleshooting and completing general repairs in vacation rental homes
- Carpentry, cabinet building and installation, door installation, casings, trim, and baseboards
- Interior and exterior painting and touch-ups
- Minor electrical repairs and fixture replacements within your skill level
- Troubleshooting plumbing and household maintenance issues
- Diagnosing refrigerator, freezer, appliance, and equipment problems
- Troubleshooting A/C issues and determining when our licensed HVAC contractor needs to be called
- Troubleshooting pool heaters, pumps, and other pool equipment
- Installing or replacing furniture, fixtures, hardware, televisions, and household items
- Moving, loading, unloading, and hauling furniture and materials
- Assisting with property renovations, upgrades, and improvement projects
- Responding to maintenance issues that arise at occupied vacation rental properties
- Identifying problems proactively rather than waiting for someone else to point them out
- Coordinating with our office, property management team, vendors, and other maintenance staff
Some repairs will be completed in-house, while licensed or specialized work is subcontracted when appropriate. You should be comfortable diagnosing a problem even when the final repair needs to be performed by a specialist.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Has several years of hands-on maintenance, handyman, remodeling, construction, or property repair experience
- Has experience across multiple trades, rather than specializing in only one area
- Owns and knows how to use their own professional hand and power tools
- Is resourceful and able to troubleshoot unfamiliar problems
- Has flexibility in their schedule to work weekends in case of an emergency
- Can work independently without constant supervision
- Takes ownership of tasks and follows through until a problem is resolved
- Is reliable, punctual, organized, and responsive
- Has a positive, respectful, team-oriented attitude
- Can communicate professionally with coworkers, management, guests, and property owners
- Understands that working inside vacation homes requires care, cleanliness, and attention to detail
- Is physically capable of performing active maintenance work, including lifting and moving furniture and materials, working on ladders, bending, carrying, and working indoors and outdoors in Florida conditions
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Ability to work in a drug-free workplace
- English communication skills sufficient to communicate with management, guests, vendors, and team members
- Own set of tools appropriate for general maintenance and handyman work
- Reliable attendance and availability for full-time employment
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Russian language skills are a major plus, as you may work closely with another member of our maintenance team who primarily speaks Russian.
