Under the direction of the Division Director, an assistant director, or manager within the Elections Division, this position is responsible for coordinating and supporting a variety of activities during an election cycle, along with other support staff, to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This is in an Administrative Support series of job classifications. Applicants work under supervision performing administrative and support duties. This position requires a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the department, including evenings, early morning, weekend and holiday hours during peak election periods.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Government, Political Science, Public Administration or a directly related field AND one (1) year of increasingly responsible elections program or project management experience;
OR,
any combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Valid Texas Driver's License.
As part of the duties for this role, the employee will have access to Criminal Justice Information (CJI) and must meet all CJIS Security Policy requirements, including fingerprint-based background screening and adherence to data handling protocols.

Physical requirements include lifting/carrying minimum of 35 pounds, and may be required to lift/carry up to 100 pounds, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity, necessary to operate a computer, monitor, keyboard, printer, fax machine, copier, adding machine, typewriter and basic office equipment, vision to monitor, standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, repetitive motion, twisting, balancing, repetitive motion, client/customer contact, squatting, occasional indoor/outdoor activities to perform the essential functions. Work Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM; Monday through Friday. Non-exempt employees may be eligible to work remotely in a hybrid work schedule once they have successfully completed the six-month probationary period. Remote work is not permitted during critical election periods.
