Join a highly skilled, union workforce specializing in commercial roofing, waterproofing, and air/moisture barrier systems. We are seeking experienced Journeyman Commercial Roofers with at least 4 years experience.
Our signatory contractors perform work across commercial and industrial projects throughout the Capital Region and surrounding areas.
Position Overview
As a Commercial Roofer, you will install, repair, and maintain roofing and waterproofing systems that protect buildings from moisture intrusion. Work includes a wide range of flat and low-slope roofing systems, waterproofing applications, and related components in accordance with industry and union standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install and repair commercial roofing systems, including:
Built-up roofing (BUR)
Modified bitumen (SBS, APP)
Single-ply systems (EPDM, TPO, PVC)
Perform waterproofing and damp-proofing applications on structures above and below grade
Install insulation, vapor barriers, and roofing membranes
Apply coatings, sealants, and flashing systems to ensure watertight integrity
Complete tear-offs and roof system removals safely and efficiently
Operate roofing equipment (kettles, pumps, hoists, etc.)
Handle and stage roofing materials on job sites
Follow all OSHA and jobsite safety requirements
Work as part of a crew to complete projects on schedule and to high quality standards
What We’re Looking For
Preferred – Journeyman Roofers
Minimum 4+ years of commercial roofing experience
Proven experience with flat/low-slope systems (EPDM, TPO, PVC, BUR, Modified)
Ability to read and interpret basic job specifications and layouts
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
Reliable, motivated, and able to work in a physically demanding environment
Compensation & Benefits
Journeyman Rate: ~$38+/hour (plus benefits)

Full-time, primarily Monday–Friday work
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
