Our growing company is looking for a highly motivated Engineering Manager to oversee the daily activities of the design engineering group and manage all engineering projects. The ideal candidate for this role would have HVAC product development experience with the skillsets to innovate current and new products.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years in HVAC product design.
- Management experience preferred.
- Experience in developing HVAC product line from on paper concept to mass procuction.
- Experience with low GWP refrigerant for residential HVAC equipment is a plus.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (UL, DOE, Energy Star)
- Computer Skills: proficient at Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Vapor Compression simulation experience is a plus. Experience using Solidworks CFD Thermal and Fluid Dynamics (big +).
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft documents such as reports, correspondence, standard operating procedures, and product operating/maintenance manuals.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and through email, with all levels of management, employees, vendors and clients.
JOB DUTIES
Management and Leadership
- Full managerial responsibility for all aspects of engineering projects
- Provide leadership, direction and technical vision
- Provide employee coaching, mentoring, development and team building.
Product Development
- Redesign and develop new products to compete in and supply the changing market.
- Assist in the development of standard operation procedural guidelines for assembly and inspection of work in process.
- Oversee testing (on-site and off site laboratory facilities)
- Maintain all Agency Listing reports, for Safety and Performance Certification.
- Ensure quality standards are consistently followed throughout all product development and design engineering projects.
- Communicate and collaborate with vendors and Purchasing team to resolve quality concerns regarding purchased components.
- Develop BOMs, Wiring Diagrams, Schematics and Manuals
