Our skilled nursing facility is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and flexible Van Driver to support resident transportation needs. This position offers 30–40 hours per week with a schedule that varies based on facility demand, making it a great opportunity for someone adaptable and dependable.
The Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to appointments, hospital visits, community outings, and other scheduled destinations while ensuring comfort, dignity, and excellent customer service.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
- CDL preferred but not required, depending on vehicle type
- Previous van driving, transportation, or healthcare experience preferred
- Ability to safely assist elderly or disabled residents
- Flexible availability to meet changing facility transportation needs
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and customer service skills
- Must pass background screening and drug test
- Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, therapy visits, hospital discharges, and facility outings
- Assist residents entering and exiting the van, including wheelchair and mobility assistance when needed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized vehicle
- Complete vehicle safety inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly
- Keep accurate transportation schedules, mileage logs, and resident documentation
- Follow all state driving laws, safety protocols, and facility policies
- Communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, and healthcare providers
- Provide courteous, professional, and compassionate service
