Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
- Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, medication management, and other interventions as appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment progress.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies to promote recovery and resilience,
- Proven experience working with behavioral health patients across age groups, including children and geriatrics.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, psychopharmacology, and medication management protocols.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for seamless documentation.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, mental status exams, and physical examinations when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients about their care plans.
- Experience with telehealth platforms to deliver remote mental health services efficiently.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and secure medical records management.
- Willing to assit in the credentialing process
