The Albany Pet Hotel is seeking an additional Receptionist to join our team! We are a fast-paced pet boarding and doggy daycare facility where high standards of cleanliness and impeccable communication with our pet parents is at the forefront of the business (we also like to have fun, too!). Tasks & Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets by name, representing the front-end of the company
- Comfortably handle a variety of dogs and cats that range in age, size, breed, and temperament, ensuring you can safely take them to and from their designated room or play area
- Provide an excellent customer service experience for our pet parents and their pets
- Provide attentive and accurate information to our prospective and current pet parents including rates, information about our services, their pet's stay, playgroup assessment results, and more
- Use our pet boarding software (Gingr) to accurately record feeding and medication instructions, record belongings, check pets in/out, handle transactions, make reservations, review end of day reports, and more
- Accurately schedule boarding reservations, playgroup assessments for new dogs, and grooming appointments
- Handle multi-line telephones, business text line, and email inbox, responding to messages within a reasonable amount of time
- Janitorial duties including laundry, dishes, sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning, and maintaining a clean lobby, reception, and client bathroom space for our pet parents
- Be willing to recommend various services based on pet parent and pet needs
- Handle daily deposits and end of day reports
- Problem solve and troubleshoot client disputes and any other issues that may arise (and bringing to the attention of our management team)
- Care for our boarding cats including cleaning litter boxes, preparing meals and following specific feeding instructions, individual playtime, creating and sending report cards, and thoroughly sanitizing kennels between cats
- After 90 days, confidently provide tours of the facility for pet parents, answering questions as they arise regarding our services, day-to-day schedule, and the facility space
Scheduling
- We are specifically seeking someone who has open availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
- Shifts are scheduled as early as 6:30am and as late as 6:30pm.
- Additional availability throughout the week may be required, and will be determined upon hire.
- Opportunities for additional hours are available during our peak seasons (typically summertime and holidays) and through cross-training if desired.
- If you are a student, we will only be able to move forward with your application if you are available during our busy holiday season including working half-day shifts on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
This position guarantees at least 30 hours per week at $16.50/hour.

Requirements:
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED
- A minimum of 6 months customer service/receptionist experience
- Reliable transportation to and from your shifts
- Available to work the days and shifts listed above
- Available to work weekends and holidays (no exceptions!)
- Must be comfortable working in a loud and fast-paced environment
- Must be able to comfortably and reliably walk up and down a flight of stairs, squat, bend, kneel, stand on your feet for long periods of time, and lift up to 30 pounds independently
- Must be willing and comfortable getting your hands dirty and picking up pet waste!
