Under the direction of the ICU Supervisor (Department Director) delivers quality nursing care to patients, adult and geriatric, on an assigned unit. Assures that patient/family needs are met. Provides for open communication within the unit, with patients, families, physicians, other units and departments. Demonstrates knowledge of patient/staff safety measures. Builds and maintains positive professional relationships.

Carries out patient care according to hospital policies and procedures functioning within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.

Implementing and documenting patient care .Documents patient care appropriately and completely.

Established treatment priorities based on the medical and nursing diagnosis.

Recognizes patient problems/.complications and intervenes appropriately.

Administers medications safely and documents completely.

Participates in the development and adherence to written ICU nursing standards of care.

Maintains skills required to work with ICU patients.

Demonstrates the ability to perform/assist specialized procedures.

Assesses patient/family physical and psychosocial needs. Supports both in a positive manner.

Identifies need for patient/family teaching.

Documents involvement in discharge planning and patient teaching.
PRN or “as needed” employees provide a crucial role within the organization, giving departments more flexibility to operate and ensuring that Delta Health provides superior services to our patients.

PRN minimum requirement: 2 shifts per month, 1 holiday per year

Must be currently licensed to practice as an R.N. in the State of Colorado.

Two years relevant experience in critical care nursing preferred.

Telemetry experience is required.

BLS required upon hire.

ACLS required within 3 months.

PALS or ENPC required within 6 months.

TNCC preferred
