Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Reach Truck Operator to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks to efficiently handle materials, manage inventory, and support warehouse distribution operations. Your expertise will ensure the smooth flow of goods through shipping, receiving, and storage processes while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate reach trucks, forklifts, clamp trucks, and other material handling equipment in accordance with OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper handling and placement of goods.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately using barcode scanning technology and warehouse management systems.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and inventory management procedures.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to ensure optimal operation of all machinery.
- Follow manual handling guidelines for heavy lifting tasks to prevent injuries and promote a safe working environment.
Experience
- Proven experience operating reach trucks or similar warehouse equipment in a distribution or logistics setting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning for logistics operations.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards including OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols.
- Experience with order picking, load & unload procedures, and materials handling techniques.
- Previous roles involving warehouse supervision or team coordination are a plus.
- Strong understanding of inventory management practices within a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and order accuracy.
