Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our Outpatient Family Practice and Urgent Care team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional or a new graduate interested in working in a fast-paced outpatient environment while supporting high-quality, patient-centered care.
Schedule
- Three (3) 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend is required. The weekend rotation counts as one of the three 12-hour shifts per week and includes both Saturday and Sunday.
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Sunday: 1:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory testing and procedures accurately and efficiently in an outpatient Family Practice and Urgent Care setting.
- Collect, process, and analyze patient specimens according to established laboratory procedures.
- Perform testing and communicate results promptly to support timely diagnosis and treatment.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Perform required quality control procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
- Recognize and report abnormal or critical results according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient and laboratory records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Follow established infection prevention, laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain appropriate laboratory supplies and assist with inventory as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with providers, nursing staff, clinical support staff, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Provide courteous, professional service while contributing to a positive patient experience.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related laboratory science from an accredited program.
- MLT certification or eligibility for certification, as required.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and patient safety.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work efficiently in a busy outpatient and urgent care environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
