Role Overview:
BEPC is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Device Assembler to support the production of high-quality medical devices in a regulated cleanroom manufacturing environment in Irvine, California.
This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in medical device assembly, microscope-based manufacturing, soldering, cleanroom production, or other precision assembly environments.
Working under close supervision, the Medical Device Assembler will perform assembly, repair, inspection, and testing activities involving catheters and related medical device components. This role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to consistently follow documented procedures while maintaining strict quality, safety, and FDA compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform precision assembly, repair, inspection, and testing of medical devices and components according to established procedures.
- Assemble and handle small components and parts while working under a microscope for extended periods.
- Follow standardized manufacturing procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate written and electronic production documentation to support product traceability and FDA-regulated quality requirements.
- Inspect work for quality and promptly communicate manufacturing, material, or process concerns.
- Use hand tools and production equipment to complete detailed assembly operations.
- Perform repetitive hand movements, including grasping, pinching, pulling, and twisting.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following all cleanroom and gowning requirements.
- Clearly communicate problems, ideas, and potential solutions with team members and supervisors.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers.
- Follow all applicable safety guidelines while onsite.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous manual assembly experience, preferably involving medical devices or other highly regulated products.
- Experience assembling small or precision components under a microscope.
- Previous cleanroom manufacturing experience.
- Hand soldering experience.
- Experience maintaining accurate written and electronic manufacturing documentation.
- Experience with catheter, pacemaker, ICD, lead, or similar medical device assembly is highly desirable.
Skills & Requirements:
- Ability to read, understand, and consistently follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Excellent manual dexterity with the ability to handle and maneuver very small components.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving grasping, pinching, pulling, and twisting.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively under close supervision and follow standardized processes.
- Ability to comply with FDA-regulated manufacturing, documentation, safety, cleanroom, and gowning requirements.
Cleanroom Requirements:
Candidates must be able to comply with established cleanroom dress, gowning, and personal hygiene standards. Requirements include wearing clean, non-shedding clothing that can be fully covered by required gowning materials and appropriate closed-toe/closed-heel footwear with socks or stockings.
Loose-fiber garments, exposed loose clothing, nail polish, artificial nails, makeup, and jewelry or piercings that could interfere with required gowning or gloves are not permitted in production areas. Candidates must follow all additional contamination-control and cleanroom requirements while working onsite.
