The Storage Platform Analyst is responsible for supporting and operating enterprise storage environments across data centers and hybrid infrastructure platforms. This role focuses on day-to-day operations, monitoring, provisioning support, and troubleshooting across SAN, NAS, and HCI storage platforms. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator with foundational storage knowledge who can execute standard procedures, follow runbooks, and provide reliable L1/L2 support for enterprise storage services.
Support day-to-day operations of enterprise storage environments across SAN, NAS, and HCI platforms.
Assist with provisioning and management of storage resources including volumes, LUNs, file shares, and exports.
Perform routine storage administration tasks including monitoring, health checks, capacity tracking, and system validations.
Support storage platforms including NetApp, Dell Isilon (PowerScale), Dell Unity, and HPE Alletra under guidance of senior engineers.
Assist with SAN operations including basic zoning, masking, and validation of WWPN-based connectivity.
Monitor and support storage connectivity types including Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI, Direct Attached Storage (DAS), and NVMe-based storage, following established procedures.
Execute standard operational tasks using runbooks for provisioning, decommissioning, and system updates.
Monitor performance metrics (IOPS, latency, throughput) and escalate issues that exceed defined thresholds.
Respond to incidents, alerts, and service requests related to storage systems and escalate complex issues with proper diagnostics.
Assist with backup, replication, and data protection processes as directed.
Participate in infrastructure changes, maintenance windows, and system upgrade activities.
Maintain documentation including runbooks, inventory records, and configuration details.
Collaborate with server, virtualization, and application teams to support storage-related requests.
Ensure adherence to enterprise standards, security policies, and operational procedures.
Participate in 24×7 on-call rotation, providing after-hours support for storage systems and incidents.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Foundational knowledge of enterprise storage concepts (SAN, NAS, HCI).
Familiarity with storage platforms such as NetApp, Isilon, Unity, or HPE Alletra.
Basic understanding of storage connectivity and protocols:
Awareness of SAN concepts including WWPN, zoning, and masking.
Understanding of storage performance basics (IOPS, latency, capacity utilization).
Ability to follow documented procedures and operational runbooks.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production environment.
Strong attention to detail and execution discipline.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (compute, network, applications).
Willingness to learn and grow storage engineering skillsets.
