Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers for delivery routes.
- Load and unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and proper handling procedures for hazardous materials (HAZ MAT).
- Drive route schedules confidently, ensuring on-time deliveries across various locations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking manual transmissions, brakes, lights, and safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records for hazardous materials transport.
- Use forklift or other equipment as needed to load or unload cargo safely.
- Follow all federal, state, and local regulations related to commercial driving and hazardous materials transportation.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on freight delivery and route driving.
- Prior delivery driver experience handling diverse cargo types such as freight, refrigerated goods, or hazardous materials.
- Familiarity with operating various truck types including flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or tractor-trailers.
- Knowledge of manual transmission operation is preferred.
- Experience with load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to hazardous materials (HAZ MAT) transportation.
