Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, support strategic decision-making, and uphold regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and possesses a strong foundation in accounting principles and financial software systems.
Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and customer service inquiries.
- Utilize various financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, UltiPro, Ceridian, Kronos, ADP, Paychex, and PeopleSoft to record transactions and generate reports.
- Conduct detailed data entry and spreadsheet analysis using Microsoft Office tools to support financial reporting and audit preparations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), governmental accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures, financial statement preparation, and audit support activities.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining meticulous records of financial transactions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of corporate accounting practices as well as governmental accounting standards is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including journal entries, account analysis, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel for data analysis—and accounting software to streamline processes.
- Strong numeracy skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately and efficiently.
- Experience with financial concepts such as debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and bookkeeping best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and providing exceptional customer service when addressing internal or external inquiries.
