Job Summary
As a Facilities Associate, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specialized equipment (PR, PE, RR) used in the movement and handling of goods, recycling and waste within the Distribution Center. Your role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations, optimizing productivity, and maintaining a safe working environment. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Primary Responsibilities
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety regulations and procedures while operating line support equipment and performing warehouse tasks. Conduct pre-operational equipment checks, follow safe operating practices, and report any safety hazards or incidents to management immediately.
- Equipment Operation: Operate various types of line support equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and order pickers to move, stack, and retrieve goods within the distribution center. Safely maneuver equipment in narrow aisles and confined spaces while adhering to established safety guidelines.
- Supplies Replenishment: Collaborate with warehouse personnel to replenish all required supplies (cartons, labels, packing supplies, etc.) accurately and efficiently within an assigned area of responsibility. Retrieve supplies from Inbound dock or storage locations and deliver them to appropriate areas in a timely manner.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect incoming supplies for damage, discrepancies, or quality issues. Follow established procedures for rejecting or quarantining defective items and communicate any issues to Facilities and Inventory Control Leadership for resolution.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized assigned work area at all times during your scheduled shift. Dispose of recycled cardboard, plastic, pallets, and debris properly to ensure a safe and clutter-free environment for all employees. Ensure all trash cans and recycling containers are emptied frequently within your assigned area of responsibility.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with Leadership, coworkers, and other departments to coordinate workflow, resolve issues, and ensure efficient operations. Provide feedback on process improvements or equipment maintenance needs to enhance productivity and safety.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Previous experience operating PITs in a warehouse or distribution center setting required
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control principles, and safety regulations preferred
Skills:
- Ability to operate line support equipment safely and proficiently, with good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Physical fitness and ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects weighing up to 35 pounds
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following established safety protocols at all times
