Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team and drive excellence in inventory management. In this role, you will oversee the accuracy and efficiency of warehouse distribution processes, utilizing advanced data analytics and supply chain management techniques. Your expertise will ensure optimal stock levels, streamline procurement activities, and enhance overall warehouse operations.
Duties
- Manage inventory levels through precise data collection, analysis, and forecasting using ERP systems such as AS400, SAP, or similar warehouse management software.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, or supply chain bottlenecks, implementing corrective actions promptly.
- Utilize data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau to generate insightful reports on inventory trends, demand planning, and logistics performance.
- Coordinate sourcing and procurement activities by negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts, and optimizing pricing strategies to maximize value.
- Oversee warehouse distribution functions including materials handling, shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and stock replenishment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as merchandising, production planning, and logistics to improve processes and streamline operations.
- Perform financial analysis related to inventory costs, procurement budgets, and supply chain analytics to support strategic decision-making.
- Use SQL and data analytics skills for data mining from various sources databases to enhance inventory accuracy and forecasting models.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during heavy lifting or materials handling activities while maintaining high standards of warehouse safety protocols.
Skills
- Extensive experience in warehouse management systems (ERP systems like AS400), inventory management software, and supply chain analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record in sourcing, procurement, and supplier management.
- Proficiency in data analysis using spreadsheets (Excel), SQL queries, and data visualization platforms to interpret complex datasets effectively.
- Deep understanding of logistics operations including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, demand planning, and materials handling.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies or process inefficiencies with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of category management principles along with experience in retail management or e-commerce environments is a plus.
- Technical proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP (Material Requirements Planning), AS400 or similar platforms.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate with procurement teams, logistics providers (3PL), production units, and suppliers.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in financial modeling related to inventory costs and pricing strategies.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting when necessary during materials handling activities while maintaining safety standards.
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
