Position: Payroll Specialist
Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid, 3 days onsite/week)
Pay: $28 to $29 hourly
Experience: 4+ years of payroll experience to support payroll operations.
Education: Bachelor’s degree and FPC certification preferred.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (40-hour week, OT as needed)
Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic law firm client!
Job Description:

Process payroll for all staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements; ensure payroll is processed in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Accurate data entry into the HRIS/Payroll system; maintain accurate records.

Apply policies, processes, and procedures.

Process payroll corrections and escalate issues.

Accurately process all wage garnishments, levies, and child support deductions.

Generate and distribute payroll reporting; assist with regular audit of data entry records.

Work closely with HR, finance, and employees to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Address inquiries and research issues in an accurate and timely manner.

Special projects and duties.
Position Requirements:

Advanced knowledge and data entry skills with of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Workday, and knowledge of AI tools (Co-Pilot).
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and basic accounting functions.
- Ability to work well in a team/independently to ensure assignments are completed and deadlines are met in an accurate and timely manner.
- Must have superb attention to detail and the ability to articulate thoughts and effectively present ideas/findings.
- Strong work ethic with ability and commitment to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to understand firm business rules and applications and sit/stand for extended periods of time.
