Bring your craft, curiosity, and hospitality to a new Harlem bar.
We're looking for bartenders who care as much about the guest experience as they do about the drink. You'll join the opening team of a new Harlem cocktail bar, learn a thoughtful and story-driven menu, and help create the kind of neighborhood place people want to return to.
About Almack's
Almack's is a new cocktail bar opening in Harlem from Karl Franz Williams, a respected innovator in cocktails and hospitality. Karl is the founder of Uncle Waithley's and the owner of Anchor Spa in New Haven. He previously created and operated Harlem's celebrated 67 Orange Street, which earned recognition from World's 50 Best Discovery, Time Out, Conde Nast Traveler, and Esquire. He also teaches tasting, rum, and non-alcoholic drinks through the prestigious BAR 5-Day program.
Almack's is a fresh concept with its own identity: a neighborhood bar rooted in Harlem, shaped by Black history and global cultural exchange, and built around thoughtful drinks, warm hospitality, and memorable storytelling. Joining the opening team is an opportunity to help establish the culture, standards, and guest experience from day one.
Who You Are
You have solid bartending fundamentals, a strong service instinct, and a genuine interest in spirits, technique, and cultural storytelling. You're prepared, calm under pressure, receptive to feedback, and generous with teammates. Deep craft cocktail experience is welcome, but curiosity, consistency, and a commitment to learning matter just as much.
Key Responsibilities

- Bar readiness - Complete prep, restocking, opening, closing, cleaning, and side work thoroughly and on time.
- Responsible service - Follow all food safety, alcohol service, cash-handling, and workplace policies.
- Teamwork - Communicate clearly with fellow bartenders, servers, barbacks, kitchen staff, and managers during every stage of service.
- Growth - Participate actively in tastings, training, and feedback sessions, and continue developing your craft.
