Duties
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive and assist with seating arrangements to optimize the flow of the restaurant.
- Manage restaurant reservations using reservation management systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS to ensure accurate booking and seating.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of host stand and dining areas to uphold high standards of food safety and guest comfort.
- Support servers by bussing tables efficiently, resetting tables promptly, and ensuring a clean dining environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding guest needs, special requests, or any issues that arise during service.
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about wait times, reservations, or general restaurant details while practicing good phone etiquette.
- Assist in guest relations by providing excellent customer service, addressing guest questions or concerns with a friendly attitude.
Skills
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or busser in a restaurant setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Strong communication skills to interact clearly with guests and team members.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
- Basic math skills for handling table counts, reservations, and billing support when needed.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper sanitation procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tables and guest requests efficiently.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
