Sun-Thurs, initially will start on night shift and will convert perm on a day shift after 6 months.

Must Haves:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Current sterile processing certification required:
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) through HSPA, or
- CBSPD Certification.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive Sterile Processing leadership/management experience in an acute care hospital.
- Minimum 2 years of direct management experience overseeing supervisors and frontline staff.
- Experience supporting a large hospital, academic medical center, or Level I Trauma Center preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of instrument reprocessing standards, sterilization technologies, and surgical instrument inventory management.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) required.
- Strong knowledge of AAMI standards, infection prevention practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading departmental transformation and operational improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with instrument tracking systems and healthcare technology platforms.
Plusses:
- Experience supporting a large hospital, academic medical center, or Level I Trauma Center preferred.
Day-to-Day:
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Manager to oversee operations within a high-volume Level I Trauma Center. This leader will be responsible for managing all aspects of sterile processing operations during assigned hours, ensuring the timely delivery of safe, sterile instruments and equipment that support surgical, procedural, and patient care services.
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of SPD leadership, regulatory compliance expertise, staff development experience, and a strong background in process improvement methodologies including Lean Six Sigma. This individual will play a critical role in operational excellence, quality outcomes, and supporting around-the-clock procedural readiness in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of SPD operations, including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, case cart management, and distribution.
- Manage daily workflow to ensure instrument availability for emergency, trauma, and scheduled surgical procedures.
- Lead and develop SPD supervisors, leads, and frontline staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Monitor productivity, quality metrics, turnaround times, and staffing levels to optimize department performance.
- Ensure compliance with AAMI, Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, CDC, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Partner closely with OR leadership, Infection Prevention, Perioperative Services, Supply Chain, and Clinical Engineering teams.
- Investigate and resolve instrument quality concerns, sterilization issues, and operational challenges.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Conduct audits, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
- Assist with strategic planning, departmental growth, equipment implementation, and workflow optimization.
- Maintain documentation and reporting related to quality assurance, sterilization records, and key performance indicators.
- Ensure readiness for accreditation surveys and regulatory inspections.
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
