Level II Machinist

Duties
- Operate CNC machines such as lathes and milling centers, ensuring precise machining according to technical drawings and blueprints
- Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling for various projects, optimizing machine performance and safety
- Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming software to produce complex parts
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and other measurement instruments for quality control
- Conduct machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to maintain optimal operation levels
- Inspect finished parts for quality compliance through CNC quality inspection procedures and measurement standards
- Utilize manual machining techniques on lathes, grinders, and other hand tools when necessary for finishing or special operations
- Read and interpret technical drawings accurately while adhering to safety protocols during setup and operation
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Machinist with a focus on CNC programming (CNC G-code), setup, and operation at Level II or higher
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and manufacturing specifications
- Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as AutoDesk Inventor or similar programs for part review and tooling design
- Skilled in the use of measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments for quality assurance
- Knowledge of machining tools, tooling selection, and manual machining techniques including lathe work and grinding operations
- Ability to read technical drawings with GD&T annotations accurately for precise manufacturing outcomes
- Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machine settings
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in machine setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control during all phases of machining processes
